Matt & The Team at The Racing Line do it again !

Just want to say a massive thank you to Matt and his team at The Racing Line in Halifax.

Just got back from there after having some work done, and finally cracked 400/400
I was over the moon when Matt told me the result, and the actual result was 401.7atf/401
A special thanks must go to Matt for completing the work in one day  , I sold some alloys to Cossie1, and he needed them this weekend, my car was originally supposed to be with Matt until late Monday, but when I explained the situation, he went the extra mile today, despite being his partners birthday tonight, to get the job done.

Top bloke, thanks again, and see you in the near future.

 Thank's Matt

GSC1 Mivec cams mapped at the Racing Line

Just like to thank Matt and the lads at The Racing Line for all the work on Thurs fitting and mapping my Evo IX parts. After a marathon mapping session by Matt, about 4 1/2 hours, he came up with a mid range torque improvement of 50 LbFt at 5000rpm and a power improvement of 45bhp at 5000rpm using GSC1 cams.

Thanks TRL...

For putting the finishing touch on my Haltech ECU today.

Lauch control and a switchable map. Not only can I run this car on 95ron when need be but I can also use the 2nd map as a wet setting on sprints.

Haltech are a big company and are becoming more and more popular in the UK.

More details on the car TRL built and mapped here:

Another Massive thanks to Matt at TRL

Had the car over at Matt on saturday for the rest of the exhaust fitting and the remapp on my X.Matt as usual worked very hard to get everything done which resulted in my car coming away with 390bhp and 405lbft of torque!!   .To say im happy is an understatement.
Matt you are a top guy and your work is second to none.I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone thinking of upgrading their car in anyway.
Thanks again mate, and maybe I will see you again soon!!!

Great job done @ The Racing Line

Just wanted to say Thanks to The Racing Line for a top job on my car.

Many thanks indeed guys

If anyone has never used Matt then all i can say is - Get your car booked in Now!!... Highly recommended indeed

Mapped Evo 8 Mr in Evo IV

Matt,
Mapped the MR FQ 320 engine in my My EVO IV running the small IV turbo, Evo 6 ECU and 560 injectors.
The results are astonishing. the turbo spools up so quickly it is quicker than a local VI RS. Its producing 330 BHP max and 331 ftlb of torque at 3000rpm.
It makes a fantastic road car.
I would recommend the racing line to anybody considering a re-map.

Big thanks to matt/joe at the racing line today

Started off with 322bhp and crap torque,(1.2 bar),drove away with 371bhp  and 340 torque....more than i expected from a remap and perrin solenoid 1.6/1.7 bar....oh and antilag

Drive home was amazin mate, after most gearchanges pops bangs and flames.Car was ALOT quicker too!

Best bang for your buck you can get.!!

Cheers Fella's

A big thanks to Matt and Joe at TRL for the work on my car on Thursday

Despite the freezing cold temperatures, they worked until after 7pm to fit my Magnex downpipe and exhaust, fit a Walbro fuel pump, then wire in my AVCR and finally carry out an EcuTek remap. I wasn't expecting massive power, as the car retains the standard 260 turbo and cams, but 349hp was a good result and the car goes very well now

I look forward to going back later in the year, when funds allow, in search of more power  I just hope you've invested in a more powerful heater for the office by then, as the little one struggled during Thursday's winter weather

Re Re Map @ TRL, was it worth it?

My car was originally remapped by A N OTHER TUNER following all it’s mods, by the previous owner. Whilst the car always felt fundamentally more powerful than my old VIII 260 that had been mapped by Matt @ TRL the power delivery seemed kind of ‘reluctant’ in comparison and not as rewarding/fun to drive.

So on Saturday we made the 5 hour round trip to TRL and spent hundreds of pounds on doing it again. I didn’t anticipate a significant power increase but I was really hoping for a big improvement in driveability.

Was it worth it? YES! Cut a long story short I gained about 25bhp  , the car made 303whp, which is 399bhp using the MLR 24%. But this is just pub talk, the real improvement was the driveability. The power delivery is just so smooth and the car just begs you to drive it faster  .

The morel of this story? Take it to the right place first time!!!
(if you have been mapped by less than the best Matt can likely save you a little money as you probably will not need another EcuTek licence)

Big Thanks Lads!!!

Just a big thanks for today mate, great service and good banter!!

The drive home was great fun in both cars - pop, pop, bang, bang!!!!

Thank you for lunch also mate, really generous of you

Regards,
Stevie

TRL Do It Again!

Hello,

My mate has asked me to give a big thanks to SCOTT, JOE and MATT@TRL on his behalf... he had his bug eye scooby remapped and is over the moon with the results.

Having had his car remapped elswhere he was left a bit dissapointed even though the figures seemed good. Matt set about checking the car over before a base dyno run could be done. After confirming that the breather system could be plumbed better and doing an oil change it was ready for the Dyno

Matt explained that a before and after graph will be given so my freind could see exactly where power is made over his previous setup. Having put it on the dyno Matt found whoever tuned the car before had set the high boost setting as low and low as high..not very clever

Anyway the results were 355/350 with just bolt on mods... my freind took the car for a 20 minute run to see if he was happy. Overall i would say happy is a understatement... he was estatic!!! He went straight to Matt and asked for a TRL STICKER The car was packed with power in all the places it was flat before... all the nasty surge was gone and the engine just felt so smooth making power... all little issues he had including an engine management light were resolved... so a big thanks to you guys for looking after us yesterday

My mate says he will be back soon for some more mods... the travel from London is well worth it

Regards,
GUM

Hello all,

I was up at TRL earlier this week with some friends, we had a great time and the trip was very eventful. Anyway the reason for the trip was to have two cars tuned, one EVO 5 GSR and an IMPREZA STI 2002 model. Both owners were keen to push there stock internal engines further and although most would forge at this point they didn’t want to.

The EVO 5 was previously running 360/380 and the owner decided an evo ix turbo was next on list… having had his car mapped at TRL previously he was defo going back to see Matt.

After remap the car made 385/415!!! Having went on road test in the car I was very impressed, power was on tap all the time and it spooled viciously. The owner will be on to give you guys an insight to how it feels now

The Impreza owner was more courageous considering his standard internals and decided on a full custom Turbo Technics MD321T turbo charger…. This unit has been known to produce over 500lbs/ft on the right applications and people have done 11 second ¼ miles with it. We were expecting some lag as the turbo is better suited to the 2.5... However Matt promised with the STI head and some timing adjustments spool could be improved. As part of the conversion some 750cc injectors and Japspeed headers were also installed. The car made 355/350 before the conversion then a whopping 430/395 after the new parts were installed . Having had the opportunity to be a passenger in the car during a 4 hour journey I was left gob smacked! As soon as this car came on boost it pulled like a train all the way to redline… It was not what I expected especially being use to the very restrictive vf35 standard turbo on the journey up. The power is so aggressive and the car just spins up all the time… 4 wheel drifts were fun on the way home… one word for the car is “ MONSTER! “ The car just wants more and more and has no flat spots… the owner is ecstatic and it exceeded his expectations by far!

Whilst we were there something rather special turned up… A fully prepared Britcar championship racer, I was not surprised at all to see the likes of race teams using Matts mapping skills

I would just like to thank Matt, Joe and Scott for looking after us whilst we were in Halifax and also a big thanks on behalf of my mates.

Kind regards,
GUM

A big thanks to the lads at TRL

Matt, Scott and Joe,

Just want to say a massive thank you for the work you did to my e8 fq-320 on thursday. It was a long day to which you guys worked well over your finishing time. For everyone reading i had a 36 k service and the following parts fitted (uprated fuel pump was already done):

1/ modified to full 3" blitz nur spec r with 3" inch downpipe and de-cat
2/ blitz sus filter
3/ hks evc 6 boost controller
4/ ecutek with mild anti-lag
5/ New plugs

With matts magic mapping skills and determination the car went from a modest 326/307 to a very very pleasing 409/380 at the fly. Its goes and sounds like a complete beast now and seems like a completely new car. Also the friendly customer service and explanation of work at TRL was the best i have ever encountered and would recommend these guys to anyone for work on thier car or any advice.

Matt your a star and see you again in september for some more work. The drive home was awesome and the pops and bangs now coming from the car is great.

Many thanks again

Ian

Thanks Matt and the lads @ The Racing Line

Big thank you to Matt, Joe and Scott at The Racing Line

My VI has been there over the past week having a S205 and load of other bits fitted. She made 508/450 on the highest run, is a totally different animal now, what a weapon! Very pleased

The lads at The Racing Line stayed back a couple of nights during the week getting things finished off, and im very appreciative of that and their constant persistancy to get everything perfect. They never fail to impress me, always willing to put themselves out to get things done in time.

Anyone wanting any work done on their Evo, I would strongly recommend The Racing Line

Cheers

Just back...mapped 6RS....385/390...stage 1 mods!

Just got back after having a few things done on the car.

Made 385bhp atf and 390lbs torque...all this from;

decat
downpipe
fuel pump
air filter
avcr

 1.7b

Also had all aircon removed, fully undersealed, never been done since arriving over here, was really clean underneath.

Very happy and obviously as you'd expect, the difference is night and day, coupled with the short rs box it feels equally as quick as when i had the 9 turbo on my forged 8 running 2b peak, albeit it very briefly before it went splat  ......twice......

Big thanks to Matt, Joe and Scott, great job and as always, always drive away happy after they've finished working on your car

Be back for rod conversion and possibly S205 sometime next year

Thanks again...trl.

Another Thank You to TRL Today

Had a manifold fitted and a ecutek check....car drives superb.

Top job....fantastic price!!!!!.....and even matt bought dinner

Cant get better than that!

Defo see you again chaps

Thanks to TRL...

Thanks to the lads at The Racing Line

I was there yesterday for a 9000 mile service, and had my antilag turned down slightly. They didn't stop until the car was 100% perfect. I kept going round the block trying out the antilag, to see if it was too loud/quiet. Did this about 4 times, and Matt kept adjusting it slightly and then sending me back up the road to see if it was exactly how I wanted it. This was at about 3.00 on a Saturday afternoon, when they were wanting to get away for their weekend.

Awesome service and customer satisfaction.

Thanks a lot chaps

PS Antilag is now perfect cheers Matt

After Sales Service

I would just like to express my opinion that the TheRacingLine after sales service is second to none i have ever experienced.

They always have time to answer the phone.

Give an honest opinion with out being supplier/brand biased.

Will not rest until the customer is satified.

This is one of the main reasons why i will continue to be a return customer.

My own particular history of modifing cars has not been the smoothest regarless of marque and it could be said that "if it will break my cars (or me) generally have broken it" sometimes for inexplicable reasons. TRL took on the challenge of working on my car and refused to quit on it even when at some points i was so dispondent that i considered getting rid of it (in bits or on fire!)

When an evo is working well, my god do they work well!

Thanks for all the hard work and putting up with me! See you again when the time comes for the next round of upgrades. (couple of weeks ok for you

Evo X Remap Results (TRL)

Well… as some of you are aware Matt@trl (THE Racing Line) has just recently modified my evo x and the results are very impressive. Before I mention the power side of things I would just like to say a massive thanks to the team for all their time and efforts.

Since the day I met Matt he has been extremely helpful, he has given me nothing but time and we all know time is money in this game. Having had the car back for a week I have never had one moment where I can’t contact TRL for advice or just a chat regarding things.

The car now has been transformed! Anyone who sees it says “now that’s a proper evo”. The evo x has come alive and the power is available at all times in any gear… Before I felt I had to gear down a lot and rev the balls out of it, but now I can just plant the throttle and she fly’s. The exhaust is nice and deep at idle but not noisy by any means, however when you accelerate it roars! The sound both on and off throttle has been admired by a few and enjoyed by me since I got the car back . Just the addition of this exhaust has made the car mark its presence where ever it goes and it sure attracts a bigger crowd then before. The drive quality off boost is not compromised in the slightest, it feels as good as standard and most people who don’t know about evos think that this is how they come out the box.

The addition of the HKS panel filter has improved sound of the intake but at a minimal level and the standard dump valve can be heard very faintly. I would like some sort of dump noise or to reverse the dumpy but that is something for a later date.

Matt has fitted a Sard fuel pressure regulator and 255lph fuel pump, the regulator looks great under the bay and is very very neatly installed. The pump is audible which is a bit of a pain but I understand that uprated pumps do make noise if not fitted with some sort of insulation. Matt plans to use some sort of insulation in order to stop the pump from being heard which he will do on my next visit. Also Matt has decided to make a couple of changes to the fuel pump carrier which will make for an even closer to o.e.m look.

On the dyno at TRL the car made circa 400bhp and 400lbs ft torque and I have had the car dynode locally on another dyno dynamics setup where the car made 385bhp and 400lbs of torque. There are various factors why I may have lost some hp, but I think the main one was me making some changes on the Avcr which in turn affected the way it maintained boost. But Matt has said he will look into it and get my Avcr settings back to what they should be.

As for the fuel consumption I must say it’s the same on the motorway, but in town driving has changed phenomenally. The car would just constantly drink in town driving where as now its remarkably good and fueling the car is never at the forefront of my agendas anymore

Also as part of Matt’s conversion he fitted some Eibach lowering springs, these have virtually eliminated the minor body role that was apparent with the standard Eibach springs. However I must say I don’t like the ride with these, the standard ride was so comfortable over any surface and now you can really feel the ruts in the road. On a smooth surface they feel no different but on bumpy harsh terrain they can be annoying. The car looks a million times better with these though and the stance is great which makes the car look soooooooooo cooooooool!!! The handling I still need to test further so will report back once I get a chance to test it properly.

I was out with a group of lads who hired a private air strip, we only used it for straight line dragging as we didn’t have access for long. In standard form my x was marginally slower than a friend’s evo v with minor mods so I really wanted to see the difference. However this chap had now remapped his car and added a couple of further mods!. When the evo x was standard it would pull on a role past the evo v then would run out of puff…. Now on a roll it will keep pulling and pulling… and the evo v was a lot of car lengths away before braking. However from a standstill the evo x (which I didn’t really want to launch hard) struggled a bit… It had a couple of car lengths on a few drags and only one car length on others but I think weight also played a big part in this. Anyway having dragged with a lot of other cars that attended… it was clear to see that on a roll the x was hard to beat and not to be messed with Overall I am extremely happy with the car and once Matt makes the final adjustments I am sure the car will be even better.

THANKS AGAIN TRL!

Kind regards,
GUM

The Racing Line

After my day speant at TRL with Matt and his lads, I have absolutely no doubt that Matt should be visited by anyone thinking of a ReMap.

Very professional and dedicated to making the car run perfectly, no detail was too small when it came to getting the power curve absolutely right.

Very impressed with his work and use of the Dyno, experience is second to none in the tuning game, and it shows he understands how to operate the Dyno and map cars to their full potential, while keeping it running safely.

Everything was fully explained before, during and after the work. And all the figures and graphs were explained in detail.

Here is a link to my post on the day

And lastly, it was exceptional value for money  Which is nice, more money for V-Power now!!

Thanks very much guys, I am made up with the service I received and I will gladly come back on a Shoot out to show how well you did with my car.
